As every medium has done before, and will continue to do, I was wondering if I should even continue this work. I am so much more comfortable working with people I can see and hear clearly, and working at a job where I know I will always be able to produce what is expected of me. It is certainly the easier softer way to just let it go. But I never really can, and so not sure about what I am doing or where it’s going. So wandering around in my mental mist today, I had to go to the laundromat to wash a comforter. There is a Goodwill in the same shopping center that I usually drive over to because it’s a little dicey there. But today I decided to walk. And while coming back, I noticed a Halloween store called “Spirit”. In the window was a sign that said Hiring, “Workforspirit.com”. I came home and googled the website and it’s an unclaimed domain. I love when Spirit intervenes with such a loud and clear message!
I am a medium. All mediums are psychic but not all psychics are mediums. The difference between a psychic and a medium is that a psychic perceives while a medium receives. I definitely receive. I have been receiving for a very long time from my spirit guide, other spirits, and passed family members. I have also been receiving information in dreams. But it is only for a couple of years that I have been channeling this receiving into mediumship readings for others. I can do a glowing reading, providing blow by blow evidence, names and private scenarios only known to the spirit and the sitter, and immediately follow that with a failure of matching information from a spirit with a sitter. I have heard that spirit always gives us correct information, but it is in the interpretation that we fail. I don’t know if this is true, but I did a little test tonight. I did a live read for a friend, and two people came through – one was her friend and one was her husband. For each person, I simply asked her about information that was coming forward, and allowed her to interpret it. Each time, she interpreted it much different than I would have. I heard the spirit telling me she blew up so I interpreted this as “blew up in anger”, but my friend said “yes, she did blow up physically because she was on steroids.” Then, the spirit showed me medications so I interpreted that to mean she was heavily medicated when she spoke to her friend, but my friend said “yes, she showed me all of her bottles of medication.” She did not have an experience of seeing her friend intoxicated on medication. We did the same thing with her husband, and she knew what her husband was saying, so I just relayed the information without interpretation. They were two successful readings back to back but only with the sitter’s interactive help. When I read a photograph for someone, there is no live feedback. I know I have a link, but I’m interpreting what I am receiving using my own filters, and based on the above, this leaves a high margin for error. However, sometimes I can be spot on. I am hoping through practice to find a happy medium. Although, I know no medium is 100% correct all of the time and it is optimistic to expect a 75% to 85% accuracy rate, I have decided to provide a full refund if the sitter is not satisfied with the evidence I bring through.
Today’s Card is the Five of Cups. This card is telling us that it’s ok to feel all things, the good and the bad. Cups are emotions. The man is focusing on three spilled cups. He is dressed warmly in a beautiful blanket, on a beautiful embankment with a nice bridge and castle across the way, and he has two upright cups behind him that he is choosing not to notice. It’s ok, because he will eventually. The number 5 signifies change, curiosity, distraction and having experiences. He is allowing himself to be distracted momentarily by something that saddens him. He is allowing himself to experience this moment. But by his very nature, he will not linger long. To feel joy, you must feel it’s opposite. It’s all good as long as you don’t sit in emotional sadness for too long.
I used to meditate in my car during lunch hour at work. While it began as meditation, it later became something more along the lines of “communication sessions during altered states”. It was during a lunch meditation that my guide initiated contact but that’s another story. So, every day I would go to my car for lunch, go out, and promptly at 1:00 pm, I would “become” awake. It happened always. If I didn’t wake naturally, a loud horn would go off, or my hair barette would pop open against my head, or some such outside occurrence. That began in 2008. To this day, when I take a nap and I have only a limited time, there is nothing I need to do. I know I will wake up. Try it. Ask your Spirit Guide to wake you up in one hour and don’t set your alarm. You WILL wake up … because your Spirit Guide will be so excited and honored to show off to you what they can do in this small way.
I have looked back on my life and noticed very clearly how I was able to accomplish things not really knowing how I did it. I wanted a Jeep, several months later when my car died and I went to get a different one, I found a jeep. I wanted to lose weight. I really had no idea how I was going to do it, but I had the clear intention. Six months later I was 15 pounds lighter through taking spontaneous cleansing fasts, which I had no intention of doing when I set the intention. I was in a miserable job when I first came to Maryland. That was 3 jobs ago. Each job got better and better and now I have a job beyond what I could have ever imagined for myself. There are a gazillion more examples, but I just wanted to share that there is a common thread here called intention. And it’s not just my life this happens in. It happens for all of us. We only have to go half-way. Our spirit peeps will take us the rest of the way. When you live in this flow, life becomes so much easier.
When people come for a mediumship reading, many of them expect that we are going to sit down with their loved ones like we are having a cup of coffee and they can ask them questions about relationships gone bad after the funeral or where the money is. While I try to explain what to expect prior to a reading, some people just can’t resist trying to sqeeze that last piece of information out of the loved one in spirit. As the medium having contact with the spirit, it is like a jolt of negative energy when this happens, and does nothing for the continued contact, as the strength of the link is in positive emotion and love. At that point, I will end the reading as comfortably as I can for all 3 parties. Part of my job as a medium is to request a link with a loved one in spirit and hope they find me pure in heart enough to agree to work with me. I view the connection with spirit as a sacred event. And while it is the living person’s loved one, and they have an ongoing relationship, it stands to reason that the person in spirit already knows the pending questions of their loved one, and if the answers didn’t come through during the reading (because I will say everything I receive) then the spirit person has not agreed to give them, for whatever reason. And I will not press the spirit world on behalf of the living loved one. Every medium is different and there may be mediums who will do that. But for me, asking a loved one in spirit to come and communicate through me, and then they do, calls for deep gratitude and respect, and I bow to them in my heart.
The Five of Pentacles looks bleak on the outside, but looks are deceiving. The woman and boy are in peasant clothing and the boy is on crutches. The weather is cold and the scenery bleak. They are passing a church with five pentacles in the stained glass window, but don’t seem to notice it. The message for today from this card is that true wealth is in spiritual things that you cannot touch. Look how the pentacles (representing wealth) are anchored in the window of the church (representing spiritual life). It doesn’t matter to the woman and boy how bleak things are on the outside because they know they are only passing through an experience that will change. The number 5 is mutable. It is never too late to cultivate your connection with the Eternal, and the Harvest is all year long!
The Celtic Cross is like a snapshot of your energy momentum from past to present to future including influencing emotions, events, environmental factors, and goals. And it can deduce a final result based on all of the cards. I just did my own Celtic Cross reading and every time I turned a card over, I kept saying “wow” because it was so accurate. It provided information about how I am feeling that I wasn’t aware of, and provided a snapshot of where I am headed. In this reading, I am very pleased with my outcome. This is a great spread for people who want a reading, but don’t really know what to ask. The cards will do it for you.
The Chariot is a Major Arcana card. He is a wonderful card to see in your reading. He is full of magnanimous universal life force, on the move and willing to help in any situation. I think of the Chariot as the Cavalry galloping in to save the day. And before you see him, you see that white horse glimmering in the sunshine and there can be no mistake that this is one of the good guys. The Chariot is the number 7, which is highly intuitive and wise, but equally intellectual and quick-minded, so he already has a strategy in place for you when he shows up. You can trust him!
This is how it works. I was cleaning and looking for a small jar to put reed diffuser sticks in. I couldn’t find one so kept cleaning. While doing dishes, I remembered the card glasses I bought at Goodwill that were sitting under the TV. I went and got them and unwrapped them all to wash and found only one little tall shot glass that would be perfect for my reed diffuser. AND it was the Ace of Clubs which is the same as the Ace of Wands in Tarot. A wonderful card which brings in the promise of creative inspiration that will develop through the activity of creative expression. (i.e., inspired to get glasses, and followed through by actually getting them).
