Most mediums knew they were receiving spirit communication of some form long before they identified as a medium. I didn’t know I was psychic or a medium until later in life, but looking back, I can recall times in my past where I knew things or had spirits who passed communicate with me. I also received messages in my dreams from guides about impending danger or deceit. But at the time, I didn’t pay them any mind. And life gets very busy when we are young. Who has time to ponder for very long if that was really a spirit guide that I saw at the foot of my bed. Here is a list of things, from my own personal experience, that I believe are tell-tale signs that you are a medium.
- You are hypersensitive to criticism;
- You are empathic and cry when someone shares their sad story;
- You prefer a night light on, even as an adult;
- You can’t bear to witness physical and emotional pain;
- You did not fit in socially from a very young age;
- You feel a deep connection with animals;
- You are extremely sensitive to energy from people and places;
- Sometimes when walking, you keep turning around because you feel someone with you;
- You frequently dream of loved ones or spirit guides talking to you and it felt real;
- You receive blocks of thought that aren’t yours;
- A word pops into your head to describe something and you didn’t know what the word meant, but when you looked it up, it was accurate.
- You are and have always been very interested in all things spiritual.
Even though you now know you are a medium, communicating with spirits is a skill that requires development and practice. When it occurred to me that I might be a medium in 2015, I began to practice on a Facebook group and I was shocked that I was getting accurate information. But then I wasn’t and couldn’t understand why. Communicating with spirits has been going on for eons, and there is actually a natural science to it, which can be learned and developed.
If you find you do not resonate with the foregoing 12 signs of a medium, but still want to be a medium, then you are. I believe our passions are our soul’s purpose (meaning something we came here to experience and/or perfect). So if you have the passion for mediumship, then it will open up for you in perfect timing. Remember, true passions don’t fade.
