Still Following Directions from Mom from the Other Side

My mother passed over a year ago and we were clearing house items for house sale. I found this 1984 Sony Walkman in a disposal pile. I knew I could sell it so I pulled it out and put in my pile. I was just now trying to get it to work. It wouldn’t work. I put new batteries, nothing. But I couldn’t accept that – I KNEW it worked and I was missing something. I could hear my mother saying “it works”. So I took batteries out, tested with a battery tester, and they were good. I put them back in – nothing. So I rotated them just playing with them, and the red light went on!!! I’ve been listening to the radio. And the cassette player works as well. This vintage item is trending for $75 on Ebay. Mom is still guiding me on all of the other items I have of hers, i.e., which ones to sell and which ones to keep. She even spoke to me when I was going through her stuff, and more than once I put something in the Goodwill pile and I could hear her say, “you can get a lot of money for that – don’t give that away”. One such item was a vintage loom which I did get good money for. I didn’t even know what it was, but of course she was right. Another item was a Squirrel statue that was in front of their house for 30 years. I wanted to put it in the front of my house. It was in my car while visiting my father at his new home, and my mother told me to leave it there so he could see it every day. And he was pleased about that. She’s still looking out for us from the other side.
